Another Easter weekend recommendation from the TJ's wine guy. Great inky deep purple color. Perfumey nose with hidden hints of under ripe berries - not appetizing in the least. Good tannin structure, but the flavor is all disjointed. Maybe it just needs a while longer in the bottle, but for now it's a no go.
thumbs down - 74
If memory serves, Synergy had a quality drop-off between 2005 and 2006.
ReplyDelete2007 Synergy rocks for the price-- no it just rocks.
ReplyDeleteDelightful flavors and not overpowered by alcohol, which some of us delicate older flowers do not need a lot of these days
I agree with Timothy it was very good. It's hard to do much better at this price point.
ReplyDeleteJust uncorked a bottle at a friend's and enjoying now...really enjoying. Surprised to hear price point. Next stop TJ's to stock up on Novella.
ReplyDeleteNovella is bottled by EOS Winery in Paso Robles. Comparable bottle from the winery is 3x the price. This is one of our favorite "budget wines".
