Pepper, pepper, pepper. Black pepper, green pepper, roasted red pepper... all sorts of peppers. And dry. With good tannins, a healthy chunk of dark fruit and a long finish.

Big bold peppery wine that I absolutely am in love with. Thumbs up for sure! Loving big bold earthy wines, this one didn't let me down yet is refined enough to share with my friends who have mellower tastes.
ReplyDeleteI just mentioned your blog on my blog. I hope that is okay?
ReplyDeleteJo, that's fantastic. Thanks for recommending the site.
ReplyDeletehey just wanted to let you know i really like this site! please keep it up!
ReplyDeleted, don't worry, I'm still here... getting a new batch of wine this weekend to review. New posts up next week for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love this stuff! What a great buy!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to share this on FAcebook.
ReplyDeleteP Reed, go for it! This is great stuff. Get the word out.
ReplyDeleteTried this out, found it to be very easy drinking, but I wouldn't call it big, bold, peppery, and earthy. Maybe my taste buds are out of order from sampling too many TJ's coffees lately? Still, a good find!
ReplyDeleteCould you add per case prices? This is a fantastic resource. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteJason, Trader Joe's doesn't give discounts for purchasing by the case, so it'd just be 12x the price of the bottle. But, as we've found, the prices tend to vary by a dollar or two depending on the part of the country you're in. I'm in Oregon, so the prices listed here are the one's I'm paying for the wines.
ReplyDeleteSo disappointed in this bottle, couldn't even drink it. I must have a bad bottle. TJ's will take it back. I love Meritage and I love a lot of wine from Trader Joes, do most of my shopping there. But so far haven't been impressed with the TJ line of wine. I will keep trying...
ReplyDeleteBrooke, I hope you give it another try. My local TJ's is, and has been for a while, out of this one and I wish I would have grabbed more than the one bottle when I had the chance. A real steal at $7.
