Primarily Lodi sourced Zinfandel grapes make up delicious bargain. Peppery on the nose. Peppery and deep dark berry flavors on the tongue. This went down so fast, I didn't get as much chance to think about the taste so much as enjoy every sip.
thumbs up - 88
I agree - doesn't taste alcoholic, surprising for a 14.5% alc/vol wine. Definitely stands out among the $6 bottles at TJ's. Having tasted many of them recently. :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed with the thumbs-up. I especially liked it the second day. Lots of dark ripe fruit and tannins.
ReplyDeleteBrendon, thank you! I've been hit and miss, hit and miss at TJs for wine until I found your site in late July. This TBD wine was so positively surprising, for the money, I love the bit of complexity and pepper punch. I didn't know wines in my frugal budget range could be this good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! I was in the same hit or miss boat before I started this site too. Glad to be able to help guide you towards some bargains.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been able to find this in Northern Virginia. Do you still see it in stores near you?
ReplyDeleteGregory, I haven't seen any in a few months. Perhaps we're in between releases.
