Hey...I like this blog! It's similar to one I have been working on, only mine is more focused on food: Feasting On TJs.
I thought about doing wine reviews, but realized I don't have that much to say, other than buy it if it is cheap and tastes good.
I put a link to your blog on mine (feel free to return the favor if so inclined), and I will be watching for your recommendations. I often get lost in the wine section of our new Ballard store in Seattle. This one sounds like a winner...I shall try it.
Now all we need is a Trader Joe's beer blog, though that selection is not as vast or exciting. Maybe I will cover some more when I actually make some posts!
Here's to helping people find the good stuff at TJs - cheers!
i wasn't sold on this one. it's been some time since i've had it, but i remember it having a hot nose, the fruit tasting very flat, and just generally a weak and thin mouthfeel for what should be a big california cab. the tj's reserve dry creek valley cab is the same price and leagues ahead of this wine. especially the last vintage if you can get your hands on it anywhere...
I really liked this wine. I was expecting not to be easy drinkable, since it has 14% of alcohol. I was wrong, it was really smooth and it had nice flavor. I will try the one Matt was referring too. By the way does anyone know exact label of that wine?
I tried today TJ's reserve cab dry creek valley 2007. I was expecting more. In fact i enjoyed TJ's reserve cab California 2006 way more than this one. Have in mind that I'm no wine expert. This is just my personal taste.
I am drinking my second glass of TJ's Reserve Cab Dry Creek Valley 2007 and was enjoying it so much that I googled "Trader Joe's Wine" to find comments on it, which led me to your good blog. I'll have to try the 2006 Reserve Cabernet to compare. Thanks for the blog!
Glad I found this blog. TJ is coming to my town soon! I recently found TJ Petite Sirah I am enjoying in addition to the Dry Creek Cabernet. Looking forward to when I don't have to travel far to get them.
I'd like to have a link to your blog on mine - I blog about food, wine, martini's and family - feel free to link if you'd like.

ReplyDeleteSame impression as Matt. Drinkable, but no hint of Big Cabness.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I'm going to have to give this one another whirl - maybe a side by side comparison with some other cab offerings like the TJ's Reserve.
ReplyDeleteWhile you're at it, the 2005 Stonehedge Reserve Petite Syrah might be to your liking.
ReplyDeleteAlso agree with Matt, the Dry Creek Reserve Cab 2007 blows it away.
