2007 Château Auguste Bordeaux - $7.99

The weather was real hot and I didn't feel well... and this bottle still ended up empty. For me and cheap TJ's Bordeaux, that's a rarity. If you're more of a fan of Bordeaux than I (that should be most everyone), give this a try.

thumbs up - 87

  1. haven't tried this yet, but it's made with organic grapes too. i imagine a far better alternative to any of the organic spanish offerings.

  2. Those added sulfites really do seem to help things.

  3. I just had a couple of glasses of the 2008. Totally awesome, but you really need to let it get oxygen for at least an hour before its true character comes out. I think this is true of most Bordeaus.

Totally agree with the thumbs up.

  5. My first bottle of this Bordeaux was early this year and it a cut above the rest of the "value" pack of of French wines. A week ago I stopped by TJ's to restock with another couple of bottles and rushed home to taste it. It was not the same wine, it tasted as if the bottle had been corked the day before. Not good. The next bottle tasted the same. Thumbs down.

  7. Fantastic! I opened a bottle of $20 BV merlot 06 and then opened the Auguste, and it was waaaay better. More depth, better body, and the aroma was phenomenal! A wine you can't beat for the price!!!!
